Time slots for the start

Post  JSIMMONDS on Mon Jan 12, 2009 4:44 am

Time slots for the start - how are they allocated? They normally ask for expected finish times to allocate time slots in big races but no-one has asked yet. Do we need to register or something or is that something which Samaritans have already done for us?

Jon

If I remember correctly from last year, the time you anticipated finishing in was entered on the Golden Bond application form if you have got in that way or via the on-line ballot form - I certainly filled that out with sub 4.

The marshal's are VERY strict and will only allow people into the start pens that corresponds with the number stamped on your running number. If you are planning to take it easy, I guess just hang at the back of the pen and keep to one side to allow others go around. However there are so many people it might just be best to go with the flow to start with.

I did put my expected time down when I applied for the ballot and I THINK I did for my Samaritans application. Just can't remember what I put....I guess I'll contact Ann or Lucia to find out.
