I've got a cold

Crying or Very sad

Guessing the best thing to do is take a brake and let my body get over the cold, is this correct?

Man Flu! (-:

I've heard two thoughts on this.

One - as you suggest take a bit of time out

Two - only stop if it is on your chest.

I guess you need to listen to your body, as has been mentioned before - a break or backing off the miles for a few days now and then is a good thing anyway.

Hope it clears up soon.

Cheers

Cold

Post  JSIMMONDS on Tue Jan 27, 2009 7:45 am

Hmmmm.
I had a cold early this winter and followed the "it's not on my chest so I can carry on advice", but scaled down my effort level.
Worked a treat. Cold didn't last any longer than normal, and my fitness didn't suffer.

I suppose it is dependent upon how bad it is though.

Watching the West Wing is ALWAYS a good idea, regardless of whether you have a cold or not. Toby is my hero!!

I've got a cold

Hi Mark,

I hope the cold is going and you're feeling better. Like Rob I've also heard the advice that if its not gone to your chest you can still run but take it a bit easier. I got laryngitis just before Christmas and it made me feel pretty rotten, the doctor didn't tell me not to run but just to make sure I got plenty of rest so I put my feet up and watched as many Christmas films as I possibly could without feeling guilty. Very Happy
