Where to start - which colour?

Post  Rufus on Sun Mar 29, 2009 10:16 am

Hello,

So has everyone now received their race number? As you are probably aware this will indicate which colour you start at. Just wondering which colour people are. I am starting in Red somewhere, prob somewhere near the back!

Be good to see if we can meet up before the race starts if we are in the same area.

Rx

I'm Red, to match my left knee. Don't know what zone though, but I'll be near the first aid tent.

Hi folks, i'm in the red start too. Number 43677 (probably a prediction of my finishing place too!). I'll be near the back I assume.

I am a blue, but I am going to try and sneak in as a Red - I will most likely be travelling up with a Red, so I will say we are wanting to stay together... We shall see how it goes.

Blue...

Post  Brisbit on Mon Mar 30, 2009 12:52 pm

So I'm the only blue? (Apart from Rob who wants to be a red!) Sad

Hopefully I'll see some of you along the way... look out for me!

Start colour

Post  Brisbit on Tue Mar 31, 2009 4:00 am

Hi Mark

You need to look in the magazine that came with the letter - it'll tell you which colour start your number corresponds with...

I keep reading that magazine over and over, but it scares me more each time!!!

Magazine

Post  Rob on Tue Mar 31, 2009 6:30 am

Take a look at page 47 -

In short run numbers:

151 - 28,000 & 54,251 - 59,000 are BLUE start

28,001 - 31,250 are GREEN start

31,251 - 54,250 are RED start

When you go to the Expo and pick up your number, that will be colour coded and will also include a number (I think) that designates your starting pen - based on your predicted finish time...

Hope that helps...

What days are you all going to the expo? I'm going on Friday. I fly in to LGW at 10:30, then i'm going to go straight to the Expo and get my number, then I can relax (well.....relax about having my number!). Anyone else there on Friday?

From my understanding is that we all run from the starts according to colour and we are mixed up with the ballat runners , so hopefully I can go with the Runners World pacers.

The celebs etc run from elsewhere - I understand Jordon is running!

Lee,

I'm hoping to be there on the Friday too. I'll probably be in the very long queue to get my name put on my running vest 'cos I was too scared to send it off for printing in case I did it wrong!

I'll try and look out for you...

Group Photo

Post  Lucia on Mon Apr 20, 2009 2:57 pm

Hi Jen,

Its at 8.30 right next to the Greenwich observatory where the viewpoint is overlooking most of London. Its not far from the bandstand where Sams will have their 'meeting spot' with the flying banners etc.

I'm going to head down there nice and early Wednesday afternoon, didn't want to take the risk so got West 'am to print my name for me - I love that club.

I'm still a little confused to the meeting point, anyone got a link to a google map etc??

Thank you - hope everyone is well!!

Meeting Point

Post  Lucia on Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:39 am

Hi Mark,

I hope this link will work, it shoud show you a map of Greenwich park, there is a view point on it next to Flamsteed House near the Royal Observatory, thats the meeting point for the photo at 8.30. The bandstand is also marked on it a bit further back to the right of Blackheath Avenue, thats where the Samaritans meeting point will be with the flying banners.

http://www.royalparks.org.uk/docs/park_maps/greenwich_map.pdf

Hope that helps!
