I hope this link will work, it shoud show you a map of Greenwich park, there is a view point on it next to Flamsteed House near the Royal Observatory, thats the meeting point for the photo at 8.30. The bandstand is also marked on it a bit further back to the right of Blackheath Avenue, thats where the Samaritans meeting point will be with the flying banners.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Lucia

From my memory of Greenwich park isn't that up a huge hill??

Still not conviced of the way - would someone like to meet me outside a tube or DLR station? Please?

Hello everyone,

Have I missed some communication's, I didn't know we were to have photo taken. Is there any other details that I may have missed? I'm not sure about the hotel at the finish, name /time/place. Would someone like to fill me in ( no comments thanks Mad )

Yep, I'm not sure about this either.
Like to know full arrangements if possible. Don't know the name of the hotel, where it is etc etc.
Perhaps an e-mail to all runners Lucia?
Thanks

Arrangements

Hi guys,

The information about the hotel and how to get there should be in the 'Final Countdown' booklet that was sent out at the end of March. However, I know that Stephen and Ann are getting an email ready to send out with all the final details etc in it tomorrow. Just for info the hotel is The Royal Horseguards Hotel, 1 Whitehall Place, SW1A 2EJ and I know there is a map to go with it as I've put it together!

Expo on Friday

Post  Lee the Pea on Thu Apr 23, 2009 6:09 am

Hi Rob, i'll be at the Expo on Friday too :-) I get in to Gatwick at 10:35, then I'll meet my pal there to get her house keys, and then head to the Excel. I'm not sure how long it'll take once I get the train from LGW, but i'll probably be at the expo between 12:00 - 12:30?

Where to start - what colour?

Post  Lucia on Thu Apr 23, 2009 6:25 pm

Hi Mark,

Don't worry about the photo, its not obligatory by any means. As for where it is, as far as I know (from what people who did it last year have told me) its not a million miles from the red start, the view point is at the end of Blackheath Avenue and the red start is on Charlton Way at the other end if it (if that helps!).

I'm coming by coach to Greenwich with my running club, which is going to drop me off somewhere near Croom's Hill Gate looking at the map of Greenwich Park. How are you getting there? I'm not 100% sure but by the looks of it from that side of the park whichever gate you come in there is a climb to get to the start. I don't know what its like from Blackheath station end, through Blackheath gate. Have a look and see what you think, some of the others might know.

Greenwich Station to Red Start

Post  Rob on Fri Apr 24, 2009 2:42 am

Hi all,

For those coming from Greenwich Stn, there is a hill to Red start, but it is not a mountain by any means, just a gentle stroll... pirat

So where are we actually supposed to meet? The bandstand or Flamstead House?

Where to meet

Post  Lucia on Fri Apr 24, 2009 7:50 am

Hi Jen,

The bandstand is the central meeting point and the viewpoint (next to Flamsteed House) is for the photo at 8.30. I guess most people will head over for the photo first as its quite early.

Post  Brisbit on Fri Apr 24, 2009 2:02 pm

Sorry folks- the train I was planning to get is being replace by a couple of buses so I've had to change plans and won't be there in time for the photo Sad Also won't make it to the bandstand as I'm a blue and the bandstand is in the red area. Hopefully see some of you along the course, and at the hotel at the end.

Have a great run everybody!
