So, has anyone put in for a ballot place?

I must be mad, but I have... affraid It is amazing how quickly you forget the painful bits...

You did what?!

Yup... Me too!! Really think I'll leave it up to luck/fate this time though, if I don't get in then that's just bad (good?) luck.

Anyone else?

So have I, at my age to, and I've still got a very sore knee.

Now not a marathon Virgin, who can't get his money in!

2010

You crazy lot!!! When I crossed the finish line I said "never again" and I meant it!

That said, I'm looking forward to my toenails, hip and ankles recovering so I can get back to running and I'm starting to think "If I did the Marathon again..." so maybe you'll see me back pounding the streets for 2011 Wink

Yep, I immediately forgot the fact I had to walk 8 miles of the bleeding thing, and promptly signed up for the ballot for next year! Shocked

If I don't get in, i'll probably not do it, because I can't ask people for more money! hahaha.

I'm sorry that I missed you all after the race though, it would have been lovely to see everyone. I think a reunion is being planned, so if I can manage to come down for it (I presume it will be in London) then I'll be there

You are all insane

Post  JSIMMONDS on Fri May 08, 2009 4:02 am

Nope. Not signed up for VLM 2010.

However, not because it hurt too much (though it did). And not because the fundraising was hard (though it was).
I am just going to give myself a break from the relentless marathon training and try something a little less intense (like lion taming).

BUT - I am definitely going to do another marathon, despite the fact that I spent the last 6 miles saying to myself "Never again". In fact, Rob, I seem to remember meeting you 100 yards from the finish line, crossing the line together (sniff, sniff) and the first thing you saying to me was "Bloody hell, that was hard".

I simply can't forget the whole experience though - an unbelievable roller coaster physically and emotionally. I am convinced that I am going to be jealous of all of you if you get in VLM. Good luck!
Jon

PS - don't forget, the film is coming....
